Called to Serve in Eugene Oregon: SNOWWWWW ❄️ 1/9/2017

This week has been a long week!!!

So first of all:

On Monday night we received a text saying that we had a mission wide confrence call at 9:00. And what do they tell us on the call? Who the new mission president is going to be!!! How crazy is that!!! It's president and sister Orton they are from Cedar city Utah, they will be here June 28th and so president and sister Russell will leave that day. I was talking to Sister Russell about what happens when they get here, if they stay for a little to train them. And she said once they touch Oregon at least Eugene they are the new President and wife, and that president and Sister Russell have to be out of Oregon within 3 hours of the new Presidents arrival. How crazy is that!!! Things are changing! It will be weird to only have them for my last transfer and a half! But they are excited for the new mission president and wife, but obviously a little sad that they are about to leave. The news of the new mission president will be announced to the public in about 2 weeks.

Tuesday: we had MLC! This time all of my companions but 1 was there!!! It's so crazy!!!! The meeting started at 8:30 and it didn't end until 4:30. It was a long day!! It was super good though. We talked a lot about the Book of Mormon and how important it is to us and how we need to apply it more in our teaching. We had all of the leadership in the mission come so all of the zone leaders, all of the Sister training leaders, and all of the District Leaders. It was huge. There was about 60+ missionaries there! I got to see Sister Rasmussen before she goes home, so that was cool! I will get to see her one more time but we got the fab 4 from coquille all back together! And I saw sister Figgs!

We then had a lesson with Jeff! We had dinner with the Kohlers who also invited Jeff and then we had a lesson with him! It was such a great spiritual lesson! Having lessons in a members house just brings a certain spirit to the lesson! It was so great!!

Wednesday: We weekly planned with the sisters. At this point we don't know what all to do for them so we supervised their Weekly Planning. Then we went and did our own weekly planning... we then met up with the zone leaders and the district leaders to set up everything we were going to teach for ZTM.

Thursday: Okay so this was a super long day! It was interviews with president. Well he had the zone leaders set up times to interview, and us and the sisters were at 12:00-12:30 we get there at about 12 and there was still 4 people that needed to be interviewed. By the time I went in it was about 2:30 and then we had to wait for the sisters to be done with theirs because we went with them. Well because of the situation that's going on with them we didn't leave until 4:15! So it was a super long exhausting day of doing nothing but sitting on the couch waiting for the interviews to be over...

Friday: We had ZTM taught what we needed to and then we took some Zone pictures. It was super fun! Then we went to try to see Jeff... he wasn't home... then we had a lesson with Jessica and her husband Gary, they are planning on getting married in the next couple of weeks!!! And hopefully she will commit to a baptism date!! We are so excited for them. Hopefully Gary doesn't hold her back because in the past he has done that...

Saturday: We had new missionary training... oh and guess what Springfield isn't rainy anymore... it SNOWED! I am so happy!!! I have missed the snow so much! But the bad part about it all is that here it doesn't melt, it freezes so we have been having to be careful with driving, so we decided to walk on Saturday to some of lessons!

Sunday: Church was cancelled because it was to "dangerous to drive" okay so Sister Broadhead is from Utah and obviously I'm from Colorado so this doesn't faze us at all! So we thought it was kinda dumb to cancel church but whatever, hahaha. But oh well. Most of our area is up hill so our bishop asked us not to go up into that area because of all the ice. So it was really sad that we didn't have church but we always have next week!
